Welcome to the Werfenweng cable car and walking area

Float at 1850 m with the IKARUS cable car surrounded by a spectacular mountain paradise.

Whether you want to enjoy the views, hike, paraglide or wile away the day in one of the cosy huts and just relax; the IKARUS cable car will transport you to one of Salzburg´s most beautiful peak regions.

With panoramic views of the Dachstein, across to the Grossglockner and the Grossvenediger, the Bischling is one of Austria´s top outlooks. From here it is possible to see over 40 peaks. The upper and lower Tauern, the Hochkönig massif, the Tennen- and Hagen mountain range, the Dachstein ranges, the dead mountains and the Styrian Lime Alps complete this unparalleled 360 ° panorama.

IKARUS - Loop road

Directly at the mountain station of the IKARUS cable car a new path was installed. This path is wheelchair and baby buggy accessible.

THE SQUIRREL IS AROUND...

IKI the squirrel and his friends hedgehog, fox and eagle are playing on the top of the Bischlingmountain and are waiting of their first visitors.
