By car
- From the North
If you are coming by car from or via Munich, the best route is to take the A8 motorway towards Salzburg. From Salzburg, continue for about 50 km on the Tauern motorway A10. Then exit the A10 at junction (43) Werfen and follow the Werfenwenger Landstraße (L229) to Werfenweng. The drive from Munich takes approximately 1.5 hours. - From the South
If you are coming from or via Villach, take the Tauern motorway A10 towards Salzburg. Leave the A10 at junction (44) Pfarrwerfen and follow the Werfenwenger Landstraße (L229) to Werfenweng. The drive from Villach takes about 1.5 hours.
By train
As a model region for gentle mobility and environmentally friendly travel, Werfenweng promotes car-free vacations. Therefore, those who want to travel by train in an eco-friendly way can do so. The nearest train station is Pfarrwerfen, about eight kilometers away, but Bischofshofen and Werfen are also easily accessible. Coming from the north, you travel via Salzburg and Hallein to Pfarrwerfen. From the south, the route goes via Villach and Bischofshofen to Pfarrwerfen.
From the stationsPfarrwerfen, Werfen, and Bischofshofen, the W³-Shuttle will take you to (your accommodation in) Werfenweg and back.
